Trim - Jake Cowan

his was taken near downtown Huntington Beach. It’s a Ford Galaxie 500 - probably early ‘60s. I didn’t want to shoot the whole car because honestly, sometimes the smaller details say more. The trim, the badge, the way the chrome reflects the light - that’s the stuff I look for.

People get caught up in trying to capture the whole scene, but I think focusing in on the design, the craftsmanship, the intent - that tells a better story. Every line on this thing was thought through. And when you actually slow down and look, you realize how much beauty lives in the stuff we usually overlook.
