Reside - Jake Cowan

This house is on one of the numbered streets in Huntington Beach - right near downtown. There’s a row of homes here that all kind of match this old-school Victorian style. They remind me a bit of the Painted Ladies in San Francisco, but with that SoCal vibe - palm trees instead of fog.

I shot this around golden hour, and the light just hit it perfectly. I used a haze filter to give it that soft glow, and it ended up coming out exactly how I pictured it. Shot it on my Fujifilm X100VI. The way the roofline curves into that rounded balcony - it’s just good design. Clean. Timeless. One of those houses you stop and stare at even if you’ve walked by it a hundred times.
